Big Bikes Festival, The journey...

This year the 10th BIIBBF was held at WP Labuan. Actually it is an annual event for Big bikers from all over Borneo. I joined PEMODA trip for BIIBBF to Labuan and it was an unforgettable experience to participate, fatigue yet promising for leisure ride lol!!!. A five hours journey or roughly 6 was started with group gathering at kuala Lurah at 7am and at 9am the journey begins. The convoy stopped for gas refill at Temburong and at Sepitang, Sabah as well having recess and lunch. Then we proceed heading to terminal and reached at nearly 4pm. It was a hot day along the way and shortly as we reached Menumbok terminal the rain falls showery, it felt like somekind of bless after hours riding under striking sun and it chilled us all certainly!!!. Our ferry departed from Menumbok terminal at 6 and reached Labuan at 8 and the convoy was heading straight to Labuan Civic hall for BIIBBF's registration and welcome dinner. Then at 10pm finally we arrived to the hotel but unfortunately most of us have to wait for the backups for our luggage since PEMODA's backup was stranded and delayed at the Menumbok terminal. I think most of backup cars were having another ferry and they departed at 8 pm and reached Labuan at 1 am.

The next day we have bike show at the morning, assemble our bikes somewhere near the hotel. Then in the afternoon we have big ride for the entire Labuan island I assume. The convoy stopped at the beach resort and we were welcome by the locals and we were served with fresh coconuts and light hi-tea. But there was a shocking news as we were informed that there was a fatal accident during the convoy. It was not one the participant but a member of Labuan committee. We were told that the pillion who tried to video the convoy was fatal as their trike hit a block of bricks on the nearby road. It was really shocking to hear and made us to take more precaution measures in the future. Al Fatihah, condolences to his family and may his soul rest in peace.. amin. The festival was eventually ends with farewell dinner.

Most of the participants went back at the very morning while our group was at the afternoon at 2pm. Reached at Menumbok terminal at 5pm and our target was to ride straight back to Brunei before 10pm. The ride was kinda "die hard" I might say, freaky dark on most of the route, raining, mud, big wide trucks passing on the small roads fuhh it was insane!. But frankly speaking I love the ride since everybody was cooperating and had this mutual sense of convoy. I believed everyone has rapid pumping heart experience lol. We managed to reach Temburong at 8++ pm and eventually arrived kuala Lurah 3 minutes to 10pm. It was a mentally exhausting journey, I have to focus hard on the road and by relying others taillights since most of the roads were not equipped with roadside light. It was a huge relief as we all arrived safely in Brunei, it is nothing like home!!!. Anyway it was also quite surprising knowing my bike's tank was able to hold from Buford to Tutong, and moreover was able to ride straight to Jerudong since most of us were starving to death then went back home with a consistent fuel warning. Next year BIIBBF will be held here in Brunei.. so c ya all here!

10th BIIBBF at Labuan

Insulator wrap

Last time I was freaking shock looking at my bike's exhaust header wrap, it was shattered after I sent it for a wash at a local car wash. It was my fault to sent it there anyway. It was ruined and it seems they scrubbed them hard as they thought it was covered with stains? since it was a 'dull' black header wrap. It looks so 'hancurrr' and annoying so I bought another insulating wrap! and this time I ll wash myself or I wont send it for a wash without supervising, because beside the ruined insulating header wrap, something happened which regret my the most, definitely, I will more careful next time!

Done with exhaust insulating wrap, smashing but pain. Some of the fiber particles still remain on my hand and they are so damn itchy even after I showered for two times!!!. Anyway its worth after looking at the outcome which I might say "Satisfactory indeed to the power of 2". Im not sure if it affects the performance but for sure I love the sight, it makes my bike more to ol skool looks, perhaps this time the header wrap fits my bike better then the old ones. Furthermore it crucial, it help to reduce heat that comes from the engine. Alriteyy, more black, lather and chromes!

my new gear

I recently added a new gear for my guitar's effect, a wah pedal that I bought for 80BND at Chong Hock. For that range of pricing I guess it deserves 4/5 ratings. It so convenient and meet my requirement, smooth to step on while playing, furthermore it comes with adjustable knobs for the adequate wah soundings. Ermm, actually I seldom use wah pedal but lately we play some cover songs from some funky and reggae stuffs and a small numbers of pop retro that requires some wah effect. Im not sure to use the amount of wah which I personally turned it to the max!!! lol... I just love using it and it so convincing...

Before I relied to a digital effect but the pedal is now malfunction, hence I now have faith to the marshall's switch control to get clean effect and some distort. I love the sound anyway, marshall provided good built in program effect thus in addition I bought Wah pedal for add ons!. Somehow I havent try em in a real gig though but I m sure these combination will kick ass. Let see or should I get those 'single' foot pedal effects?

unwired

I just finished updating my two machines to snow leopard OS.. well the reason why I update my OS to snow leopard because I bought a magic mouse from apple today. It is a nice slim elegant looking mouse with smooth multi functions surface. No button at all but it acts like a normal mouse with additional functions of finger swipe. It acts like mac pro mouse pad, use fingers to swipe and it will respond flawlessly. I m hoping magic mouse will help me in my up coming editing project... will see. For the mighty mouse, I will dissect it of course, the scroller is malfunctioning anyway. I need to see inside, I am curious. I ve tried to clean it as most people suggest, using wet towel but it aint no good. For sure mighty mouse is using USB while magic mouse is wireless meaning AA cells are needed to pursue its 'magic' to work. I m hoping not to spend much amount of dollars in pursuing this thing to work.

Actually I dont have intention to upgrade my OS to snow leopard just yet, but as preceding mentioned it is all because of the magic mouse. And furthermore I reckon apple is giving a good offer to their users.. the "family pack" with reasonable price. It provides up to five computers meaning you are permitted to install up to five computers using the same CD. Ermmm I dont notice anything yet, will explore bit by bit. Anyway magic mouse is recommended.. its handy and awesome..

December Carnivals..

It has been awhile i didnt update my blog, quite busy recently but now comes to my holiday where I shall repay for my long overdue of activities. I attended 3 carnivals within 24 hours, last nite I went for DST carnival which was awesome, the stalls, the burger, the lamb chops , the fireworks but not the shuttle system. How would you feel after standing and waiting accordingly but eventually those selfish bastards who came later rushed into the bus and took ur seat? Dont they have feeling of conscience? moreover it was quite shocking to see some children without parents were rushing up the bus. Where were the parents? and why letting the smalls alone? undoubtedly the parents were somewhere and let their kids to struggle in the crowds. This was not suppose to happen, this may lead to 'lack' of ethics for the generation, besides it is dangerous and likely may cause injury !. I wonder the functions of the numbers of staffs standing and mingling at the bus stop, what on earth they were doing? just standing and guide people to the bus door? I mean they should more organize, ask the people to form a line or give numbers I presume. Isn't it more efficient rather than standing and just ordering people to get in the bus upon arrival.

As for today I was spending time with my bike and with other fellow bikers. Pemoda and HOG were invited to two carnivals held in Tutong and Kiulap. We came for a parade at Tutong Karnival together with 4X4 wheels, vespa owner groups, sport cars and other luxury vehicles. We met up at the very morning and spent for like 5 hours in Tutong carnival. It was really nice though, the parade let the sounds of our twins engines immense intensely. However the slow ride made my engine overheat and left a scorch mark on my jean! I guess I have to get another exhaust wrapper?. Nonetheless, to ride with old fellows were awesome!. Really miss the old days folks!!!. We shifted from Tutong to Kiulap at mid day.. apparently it was hot along the route with bumpy highway, potholes everywhere. But it dosnt really matters, I just love the rumbling sounds anyway.. all riders may know the feelings, mutually!. As arrived again another warm welcoming from kiulap organizer. What I love was the resonant sounds of v twin engines as we entered the buildings.. yeah kids better cover your ears!. Then the convey moved to DST carnival but we didnt stay long. Back to tutong and spend a few hours at pantai for recess and teh tarik, jagung bakar and curry puffs..
