The talents

'Art' is universal, variety of disciplines and categories but most people might relate 'art' to drawing and painting kinda stuffs or perhaps anything that is colourful, decorations of wall etc, I guess the implementation of the word 'art' during our school days leads to our misunderstanding.. anyway what the heck! Art is all about expressions and skills, to value and to appreciate one's creations. Talking about 'value', I have a lil conversation with a local artist, he is one local success man in this field, or must I say he is professional. Most of his paintings meet the standard quality and for commercial purpose. He experienced to sell his works for hundred and thousand of dollars.. thumbs up! but to my surprise he was saying 'some' locals are doing 'comparison' in prices.. is it make sense? and is it appropriate? come on, art craft is not a 'machine' craft, its hand craft !.. its okey to negotiate price but to compare price? heh it sounds funny. For me work of arts need wise consideration, we cannot simply do comparison in term of price.. art is all about quality, originality, creativity to consider, in fact every piece of art is unique. In other words dont expect a 5cm abstract painting should be cheaper than a 5 feet portrait, look at the works thoroughly.. look for the quality not sizes!. What i am saying here is try to appreciate one's hardwork and creativity. Am I making any sense? consider this, how do you feel after all your hard works are being stereotype with a lame excuse? macam mana tah kan maju.. but then 'value' for every single piece of art work may vary, depending on its quality. So pandai-pandai tah menilai..

Anyway I m impressed with some of our local talents. Here is an example of a piece of artwork done by a young UBD student who is majoring in art. I am convince to his talent by looking to this art work. He painted this piece for a week using acrylic as the medium and coloured in brownish tone. Looking at the subject matter quite impress me, a posed of our generation, sincere expressions, natural beauty, moreover its cultural and showing a bond of friendship.. well I am not judging, perhaps I am not good in giving comment, nor critics.. it is just my point of view. By the way, this artwork is sold, for how much? well, let just say it worth the price.

Dual System

I am back using Windows OS, windows 7 to be exact. It is somekind of excitement, to get familiar to the new interface of Windows, to me it is not a problem even I m not using Windows OS for quite sometimes now. I even skipped Vista and didn’t get the chance to explore. That’s because I rely to mac OS X but since some of my works require software that can only be generated by Windows OS, so I now using dual boots on my mac-book pro. Remarkable combination that turned my lappy to a hybrid machine – winmac !!! lol. I can see Windows OS nowadays offered good interfaces which more or less resembling to mac OS X. Both OS has something in common; user friendly GUI.

The installation was quite easy, by using ‘Boot Camp Assistant’ it only requires several clicks and wolaaaaa… it leads you to normal installation of window, as simple as that!!!. Furthermore the latest Snow Leopard supported 64-bit installation and thats what I was looking for. It took less than an hour to complete the installation (not including updates) and to set up all drivers using snow leopard's dvd.... and now I can swap between Snow Leopard and Window 7 at ease, just by clicking ‘option’ key during boot up.

What I noticed Windows 7 is quite handy, windows now introduce their new style of handling their system, the introduction of ‘live taskbar’ where all running programs can be peeked by moving over cursor on the icons on the taskbar or to display desktop by moving the cursor on the right bottom of the screen, easy switching windows with a drag to the edge of the screen, shaking a specific window make other windows on the desktop minimize, and lots more. The problem is software compatible issue.. since windows 7 is a fresh platform so I guess there are some softwares which are not compatible as yet, just as what I am doing right now.. I m struggling to install antivirus, the installation stop responding!!! I also tried previous version's compatibility and hoping it to work but it aint no good, the installation succeed but "error" window keeps on popping out and its annoying arghhhhh...

dua puluh sepuluh

This is the new beginning of 2010.. A decade after Y2k and within the period, there were many things happened ups and downs.. Sweet and sour cream of memory lane. Grateful in passing thru all these times with cherish moments, from being a student to a professional worker, and achieving most of the dreams.. Alhamdullilah. I personally believed that all these years really taught me well, to be kinda rational and considerate well being by meeting different kind of people, from long lost frens to making new friends.. how to treat kindly and to ignore where possible lols. Friendships really mean something to me, some are supportive, sincere and yet some are annoying... a notion of 'life full of colours' thus makes everyday such a process of learning by mingling around with different kind of peoples.. make me wiser day after days. Beside I never thought about 'serious' commitment, not until I started working and joined social clubs and associations, perhaps it sounds optimist but thats what I felt.. by my involvement as a committee as well as a member in some particular clubs and associations I learned many things unconsciously.. lots of precious and valuable things... more towards vision I guess. Moreover within a decade I saw that Motorcycle and music are my passions.. from yamaha dragstars and now to harley davidson streetbob.. From 'room' jamming to open gigs.. Well i might say there were progression of passions, dont u think? it is a pace of life I undergo and I think essential to make life somewhat colourful... My new resolution for this 2010? nehhh... I dont think I need any, just stick on what I used to believe on, to get better success insyaAllah...
